Gingerbread biscuits

Making gingerbread makes me feel like a better mother. A friend of mine once told me that after her children have gone to bed, instead of collapsing on the sofa, she spends the evening planning and preparing for the next day. I was in awe. I’m a bit hopeless at planning. This is why gingerbread is a good thing. Gingerbread dough needs to be made in advance and chilled before it can be rolled out and made into men. So, once you have made the dough you can go to bed happily knowing that when you wake up in the morning a small part of your day will already be planned out. Amazing.

So, Bobby and I made some gingerbread biscuits (the recipe is another Dan Lepard one, available online here). I attempted to be a little bit festive, making use of my new star cutter. Bobby could not be persuaded to make anything other than men.

The boys and I are currently so full of cold that I am loathe to offer our biscuits to anyone else. I think we’re just going to have to eat them all ourselves.
